Questioned by the Police: your rights

If you have been arrested on suspicion of committing an offence, you have certain rights when you are being questioned. The Police will read their police caution to you whilst the questioning is recorded.

“You do not have to say anything. But, it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence.”
